National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea is the only national museum in Korea which accommodates modern and present arts of Korea and the trend of world arts. This museum first opened in the minor pavilion of Gyeongbok palace in 1969 and moved to the current location in Gwacheon in 1986 when it got finally outfitted with international-scale facilities and the grand Sculpture Garden to open the new chapter of Korean art culture.
